I met them outside Deep Ellum Live in downtown Dallas, TX. It was around 1am (or later) after an amazing show. Raine was quiet, but nice and polite. I talked to a couple other people in the band that were new and/or touring with them. They had connections in Boston and I found that pretty amusing. They are one of the most amazing bands live.

How I met Billy Corgan

I’ve been lucky enough to meet Billy Corgan three times. The first time was at Tower Records in downtown, Dallas, where I waited from 9:30am till 4:30pm to meet him. It was worth it! I can barely remember anything, but snapping pictures and I told him that I had not been able to get tickets to his show—I had been second in line and I cried in the parking lot—and he just said, “I’ll give you tickets, sweetie.” It was so hard to even talk to him, so the fact that he gave me tickets was amazing! The show was in this small venue in Deep Ellum and it was packed and hot and loud. I couldn’t believe that I was there and so close. The Smashing Pumpkins met so much to me as a teenager, and they still do.
